Fundraising Manager Role – Employment Opportunity

JOB DESCRIPTION – FUNDRAISING MANAGER

Rate of pay: £16 per hour. Part time role 21.0 hours per week (flexible, some working
from home and some in the main Foodbank centre). 25 days holiday per annum (pro
rata) and opportunity to join the Foodbank’s NEST Pension scheme. Fixed term
contract role for 12 months initially, with opportunity to extend based on funding.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop initiatives to attract an additional income of £60,000 to Rochdale
Foodbank in the first 12 months of employment by pursuing 3 streams
identified by the Trustees:

a. Corporate sponsorship You will proactively identify, engage and build
good relationships with prospective corporate donors, successfully
securing them as funding partners. Alongside this you will deepen
engagement and grow our relationships and partnerships with existing
corporate donors.

b. Grant Funding You will research potential funding opportunities from a
range of potential funders including local and national grant
opportunities, foundations and grant giving trusts. You will identify and
prioritise a pool of potential funders. You will forge relationships with
those funders and develop and submit timely and winning funding
applications.

c. Personal Donations Increasing personal donations through
JustGiving and social media campaigns.

2. You will develop, monitor and manage a fundraising portfolio. You will
establish a fundraising pipeline and develop a range of Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs) that can be tracked and that will enable you to make
informed projections regarding future income.

3. You will be expected to provide progress reports to the Trustees for every
Quarterly Trustee Meeting.

4. You will be part of the Strategic Planning Team, consisting of staff and
Trustees, which creates an annual Strategic Plan and Budget, on which all
your grant applications must be based.

5. As part of the wider Foodbank management team you will engage with and
motivate Foodbank volunteers in delivering the Foodbank’s objectives as set
out in the annual Strategic Plan.

6. You will work collaboratively with other Trussell Foodbanks across the Greater
Manchester area, identifying and progressing opportunities for joint funding
proposals and partnerships.

7. You will forge strong relationships with colleagues across the wider Trussell
network, sharing best practice and learning from other charities across the
network. You will proactively take advantage of any fundraising training and
skills development opportunities and engage with any joint fundraising
opportunities.

8. You will be aware of trends and data regarding food poverty in Rochdale, in
comparison with other local authorities, and remain current regarding all food
offerings in the borough of Rochdale.

9. You will be expected to secure sufficient funding over a 12-month period to at
least cover your own salary costs. This will be reviewed every 6 months.

10. You will work with the wider Foodbank management team on initiatives to
deliver a 5% increase in food donations during 2025/26.

11. You will be willing to carry out other reasonable duties contributing to the
overall aims of the Foodbank.

Skills

ï‚· You will have good, established experience of grant, trusts and foundation
fundraising as well as corporate partnerships fundraising.

ï‚· With excellent written and verbal communication and relationship
management skills, you will be able to inspire and motivate new and existing
funders.

ï‚· You will have experience of using social media to help deliver fundraising
outcomes.

ï‚· You will have experience of setting, managing and reporting against
fundraising KPI’s.

ï‚· You will be tenacious and able to embrace, develop and shape a new role.
You will be well organised, proactive, and a self-starter who is able to self-
motivate.

ï‚· You will be able to demonstrate empathy for people from disadvantaged,
marginalised or socially-excluded backgrounds.
